    Weekend Wisdom

    iPad, iLaugh!
So everyone's been talking about Apple's new iPad - a gadget that has caused a lot of debate. But one thing many people agree on - its name isn't the most creative. Not when it calls to mind feminine hygiene products! Watch the spoof below for some laughs

    Dirty Money?
In the true spirit of entrepreneurship, an enterprising Taiwanese businessman has come up with a new way to make money just in time for Chinese New Year - washing dirty bank notes so they can be used like new in red packets!
The Lunar New Year falls on February 14 this year. According to Chinese customs, grandparents and parents usually give "red envelopes" stuffed with clean and fresh bank notes to children for good luck in the upcoming year.
Yu Guan-cheng charges 300 Taiwan dollars (SGD$13) for washing 20 bank notes, soaking them in chemicals, rinsing with water and hanging them out to dry.
Some people think he's crazy to offer this service and wonder who would want to have their money washed, but he claims he has new customers coming daily!
Well, that's one sure way NOT to get arrested for money laundering!

    Sack John Terry?
An online petition demanding John Terry be sacked as England captain has garnered thousands of signatures in a small space of time.
The site - SackJohnTerry.com - urges supporters to join the campaign to persuade the FA to strip the allegedly adulterous skipper of his captaincy.
Since being set up by businessman and Manchester United fan John Tilley, it has been bombarded by angry fans.
Mr Tilley insisted "The Football Association cannot stick their heads in the sand this time. They have to take action and take action now."
Maybe we need to double check that Mr Tilley isn't actually a Mr Wayne Bridge!

Today’s Show is made possible by the NUMBER FORTY-EIGHT

48 - Humans have 48 different glands in the head and neck alone. A gland is an organ in our bodies that synthesizes substances for release.

48 - According to the periodical, Habidashery Today, the average pair of Men's boxer brief underpants is too worn out to wear after 34 washings in an automated washing machine, yet men typically keep a pair until they have been through the washer 48 times.

48 - The average age of an Italian barista is 48 years old. In Italy being a “Barista” is a respected job title. The average age requirement for a Starbuck barista is 17.
I guess that’s why coffee always tastes better in Italy. It’s the taste of experience!

    Super Brain Foods

Watch your weight, cholesterol and blood pressure levels. A study has found that those who were obese in middle age were twice as likely to develop dementia in later life, while those who had high cholesterol and high blood pressure had six times the risk. Alzheimer's Association advises one to eat in moderation and to adopt an overall food lifestyle rather than a short term diet.

If I m not wrong, the stall name is Famous Geylang Fried Hokkien Her....Super super good! Adjacent was a newly renovated 2 storey hotel n opposite has a Caltex Petrol Kiosk.
  • This week's Hokkien Mee King and winner of the Gold Gift Pack is...Ettore Palazzi!
Dear Denise. Geylang Lor 29 Hokkien Mee is located in 396 East Coast "food 'r us" hawker centre. I have been in Singapore the last 24 years and I cannot think of any better hokkien mee stall. The prawns are very fresh and large the mee is the right mix of mee (the thin and the large) and they are blended with a super gravy made of the heads of the prawns (cholesterol punch) but who cares. The lard is chanky and crispy. And last but not least Alex is cooking on charcoal, which gives an estraordinary smooky flavor to the mee. What can I say I can die for it. My biggest problem is that I leave nearby. Only a walkinging distance. So very tempting ah ah. Cheers Ettore Palazzi.
